Sugar Free Choco Hazelnut spread

Choco, like we say in Belgium.

In the first zine (The ones you all really liked), you’ll find the criminally delicious hazelnut chocolate pizza. Say you would like to cut back on sugar a little, here is your alternative.

INGREDIENTS

200 gr of hazel nuts, unsalted

125 gr dates

50 gr of pure cacao powder

If needed or wanted: sunflower oil or coconut oil

If wanted: vanilla drops

PREPARATION

Pinky swear you will not put your powerblender back in the cabinet after you made this.

Throw the hazelnuts in the blender and let the machine work until the hazelnuts form a thick, oil-like consistency.

Add in the dates and repeat the process until you get a really smooth texture (if you like dishes, you can also blend the dates separately and add the pure instead)

Add the cocoa powder (and the vanilla, if you’re into that). Blend it again.

Now, it’s up to you if you want a more solid structure don’t add any oil. If you want it to drip off your piece of bread and make a wonderful stain: add oil. Sunflower oil will not influence taste very much, while coconut oil will give you that slight hint of bounty.
